There must be a way
to make it better.

I'm Jakub. I've been thinking that sentence since I was 13.
This is the honest version of what happened every time.

2012 age 13 · the phone

I bricked my first smartphone.

A Motorola RAZR, and no idea how it worked. Just one thought: there must be a way to make it better. I rooted it, flashed every ROM XDA had that week, then bricked it. My brother soldered a factory cable and we brought it back. Better than before.

Hacked Xboxes, fixed the whole family's tech. I was that guy.

2013 age 14 · the glider

Our first plane crashed on its first flight.

A 2 m glider, built with my brother. We soldered it back together and made our own servos; I owned the radio's firmware. Through high school: summer jobs to buy flagship phones, then flash them. One friend is still chasing the Subway Surfers score I cracked.

Did I grow up, or did the toys just get more expensive?

Growing up, I thought I had to grow out of all this.

The 60-second version
